Flowers will begin as pink buds, opening to white. Bark of old stems will peel in several shades of brown, numerous, arching stems provide excellent cover for birds. Prune as needed immediately after bloom and no later than mid-August. Plants may be cut close to the ground in early spring to rejuvenate. Best in full sun in the northern part of its growing range.
