There will be shopping from local native plant nurseries, educational booths with various organizations; conversations with native plant growers and garden experts; two speakers; music; kids activities, and more! Weekly Wednesday Wander
Join me (Courtney - owner of Figwort Farm) for a weekly wander at one of our local nature trails. We’ll enjoy the scenery, identify native and invasive plants, trees and shrubs, mushrooms, birds and insects as we walk. We’ll also consider and talk about plant communities and how we might translate them into our own landscapes. These wanders are free and open to everyone (please contact me ahead of time if you need any special accommodations @ courtney@figwortfarm.com). My hope is that we will share our combine knowledge and learn from each other as well as learn together as we see and discover new things.
NO DOGS: I do ask for these walks to be pet-free. As much as I love our canine friends it’s nice to take things slow and be able to focus on our surroundings without their distraction - plus not all nature trails will allow dogs.
WHAT TO BRING: I encourage you to bring bug spray, sun protection, water-bottle, your favorite nature guides, binoculars, and a magnifying loop or glass. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 30th we’ll be walking at Pemaquid Pond Preserve 425 Turner Road, Bremen, ME. For more details about the trail visit: https://www.coastalrivers.org/trails/pemaquid-pond-preserve/ Plan to meet in the parking area at 5:20PM and start on the trail by 5:30PM - I’ll be there rain or shine. At a slow pace we should complete the 0.7 mile trail in about 1 hour and be back at the parking area by 6:30PM.
Maine Open Farm Day
Open Farm Day is an extra special day to visit a farm and discover more ways to enjoy farm products year-round! Maine's Open Farm Day allows visitors to explore host farms throughout the state on the fourth Sunday in July, rain or shine. Please visit RealMaine.com to learn more about this special invitation to see Maine agriculture where it happens, get tips for a good visit, and find a list of participating farms.

2025 Gardens of Lincoln County - A Stone’s Throw From the Water tour
Set in the scenic South Bristol area, the tour features a selection of stunning private gardens, each just a stone’s throw from the water’s edge.
We’re keeping the garden locations a secret until the day before the tour, but we assure you it will be worth the wait. Along the tour, you’ll also have the chance to explore local historic sites and learn about the region’s heritage.
