Tall and showy, Maximillian’s sunflower can grow up to 7’ tall. Can spread aggressively through rhizomes, not suited to smaller gardens. It is best suited for full sun in dry to medium conditions. It attracts long-tongued bees, short-tongued bees, butterflies, and moths. Has distinctive folding leaves that make it easy to identify from other helianthus species. A great meadow species.
