Join me (Courtney - owner of Figwort Farm) for a weekly wander at one of our local nature trails. We’ll enjoy the scenery, identify native and invasive plants, trees and shrubs, mushrooms, birds and insects as we walk. We’ll also consider and talk about plant communities and how we might translate them into our own landscapes. These wanders are free and open to everyone (please contact me ahead of time if you need any special accommodations @ courtney@figwortfarm.com). My hope is that we will share our combine knowledge and learn from each other as well as learn together as we see and discover new things.
NO DOGS: I do ask for these walks to be pet-free. As much as I love our canine friends it’s nice to take things slow and be able to focus on our surroundings without their distraction - plus not all nature trails will allow dogs.
WHAT TO BRING: I encourage you to bring bug spray, sun protection, water-bottle, your favorite nature guides, binoculars, and a magnifying loop or glass. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 23rd we’ll be walking at WALPOLE WOODS 542 State Route 129, South Bristol, ME 04568 for more details about the trail visit: https://www.coastalrivers.org/trails/walpole-woods/ Plan to meet in the parking area at 5:20PM and start on the trail by 5:30PM - I’ll be there rain or shine. At a slow pace we should complete the 1 mile trail in about 1 hour and be done by 6:30PM.
